Since returning from the break we have been busy working on our Energy Unit. We have started two projects. The first is a assignment using Flickr, a website where we can post pictures and add text to those picture. We have been using this site to post a picture and information regarding renewable energy sources.
We are also working on a project involving the creation of a solar oven. Solar ovens use no fuel and have no cost to run once created. There use has been promoted in developing nations where deforestation and desertification are a problem. Today the students will be creating their ovens and next week we will be testing and cooking with them. Pictures of this project will be uploaded soon.

Test Date Changed
The date of the test will be changed to Friday March 26th. The date has changed because of the conflicting High School bonspiel. We will also be testing the safety helmets on this day. Students leaving early for spring creak will be writing the test on Wednesday March 24th.

One of our first projects of the year was catapult building. Students did and great job creating their catapults. Once completed they were able to make some modifications as you can see below. Some of our catapults could shoot erasers over 30 feet, I am glad this project was sent home. Great Job Guys!
